LFN Author Series: Bruce Cohen, PhD - Excusercise: Inexcusable excuses for not exercising
As we head into the new year, many of us are struggling to keep up with our familiar resolution of improving our health.
Bruce Cohen is an exercise, health and sports psychologist/physiologist who has worked with the U.S. Federal government and United States Military and who, in the process of preparing his doctoral dissertation, researched the most prominent (and pernicious) excuses people make for avoiding getting or staying in shape or for giving up (at least temporarily) on their fitness goals and how best to counter/fight back. The result of (and response to) this research is Excusercise: Inexcusable excuses for not exercising.
In this talk, Dr. Cohen will discuss his research, his findings, and even some tips for would-be excuse-rs. It is sure to be an invigorating and encouraging talk that will surely help us all face the coming year in better shape!
Dr. Cohen will be interviewed by Matt Robinson, host of The Writer’s Block on The Needham Channel (https://www.needhamchannel.org/the-writers-block/) and author of Lions, Tigers, and…Bulldogs? An unofficial guide to the legends and lore of the Ivy League (www.lionstigersbulldogs.com).
