Needham Public Health to Host AED Walk-in Training and AED Scavenger Hunt

Needham Public Health (NPH) is hosting a walk-in training for automated external defibrillators (AEDs) on Saturday, February 10th from 1-3 pm in the Community Room of the Needham Public Library. An AED is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It's a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, medical device that can analyze the heart's rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm. Learn how to use an AED at this training and spend as much or as little time as you want to. No registration required.

NPH is also hosting an AED Scavenger Hunt! Help locate all the AEDs in Needham for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card. NPH wants to locate the AEDs around town to create a map of their locations to share with the community.  The person with the most accurate entries by 8 pm on February 14th will win a $100 Amazon gift card donated by North Hill.

For questions, please contact NPH at (781) 455-7940 or at PublicHealthNursing@NeedhamMA.Gov.
