Join local MA authors Janis Robinson Daly and Julia Corbett Davis (NHS '80) and NHS teacher, Jenn Bouchard, for a lively discussion about their paths to publication and their experiences in writing different genres and finding a publisher in today's challenging and competitive industry of book marketing. The event will be moderated by a current NHS student.
BIOS
Jenn Bouchard is the award-winning author of CONSIDERING US (2025) and FIRST COURSE (2021). Her short stories have been published in six publications. She is a graduate of Bates College and Tufts University. A high school social studies teacher of twenty-five years, Jenn lives with her family in the Boston suburbs.
Julia Marie Davis is an American poet and author of CATBIRD (2024). Her writings have appeared in several literary magazines and anthologies. She shares her insights through a biweekly column on Medium. She is a graduate of Needham High School, Boston College and Fairfield University. Her professional background in public relations, coupled with her training in crisis management from the Department of Homeland Security, infuse her storytelling with depth and authenticity.
Janis Robinson Daly is the author of women’s historical fiction with two novels, THE UNLOCKED PATH (2022) and THE PATH BENEATH HER FEET (2024). A presentation of how her genealogy research inspired her to begin writing has made Daly a sought-after speaker. She is a graduate of Needham High School and Wheaton College, Norton MA, at the time, a women’s college. After a professional career in sales and marketing, Daly now applies her experience to assisting other authors through a marketing consultancy service.
Moderator: Aliyah Borskiy is a senior at Needham High School with a passion for writing, filmmaking, and storytelling. Aspiring to build a career as an author, director, and book publisher. Next fall, Aliyah plans to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst to study communications and public relations. In her free time, she works as a rhythmic gymnastics coach, writing her own novel, and spending time with family and friends. With a deep appreciation for literature and the arts, she is excited to moderate this author event and engage in conversations about storytelling, creativity, and the writing process. .
