Sullivan School of Irish Dance

The Sullivan School of Irish Dance performance is a lively and energetic display of traditional Irish dance styles and music.

The dancers wear a modern variation of the traditional Irish dance dress, which includes Celtic scrollwork designs. The dancers will perform in soft shoe and hard shoe, which are different types of shoes that are used for different types of dances.

Our dance troupe ranges in age from 6-18, performing individual, group and 4 or 8 hand figures. The dancers will perform a variety of dance styles, including the reel, slip jig, jig, and hornpipe. The reel is a fast-paced dance that is often performed in a group, while the jig is a solo dance that is characterized by its quick, bouncy movements. The hornpipe is a hardshoe solo dance that is known for its intricate footwork.

The recorded music accompanying the dancers is mainly traditional Irish music played on instruments such as the fiddle, flute, and bodhrán (a type of drum). The music is upbeat and lively, and it is designed to complement the fast-paced movements of the dancers.

The dancers will showcase their technical skill, speed and precision, as well as their ability to convey the spirit of the music through their movement. A performance that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages.
