Tuesday, April 211:00 PM—Sunday, April 265:00 PMInside, Teen RoomNeedham Free Public Library1139 Highland Avenue, Needham, MA, 02494

The Young Adult Librarian, Erin, and her cohort, Matthew, have created a poetry craft for teens! Register for this program to bring home a bag for yourself to be completed on your own time :)
Are you somewhere in or between grades 7 and 12? Looking for something fun and creative to do over April Vacation? Feel like doing something "old fashioned"? Want to get into Poetry for Poetry month, but just don't know where to start? Why not register for this fun Poetry Postcard Take and Make Kit?! Make your own poetry on the back of postcards using old book pages, magazines words, or whatever else suits your mood! (examples and some pages/cut-out words will be included...)
Each kit will have slightly different contents, but generally speaking kits will include all materials you may need*
- a few pieces of construction paper
- a black marker
- a few sheets of text / printed book paper
- a glue stick
- some magazine pages
- a few different blank postcards to get creative with!
*not included: Scissors
Participants can keep all supplies, but we love it when we get photos of completed works to share with others! (or, you could even send your completed postcard back to us at the library!)
Any questions? Feel free to email Erin at neeya@minlib.net
Kits will be available to be picked up the week of Tuesday April 21 - Sunday, April 26th (beginning on Monday at 1 PM through Sunday at 6 PM) on the 2nd floor of the Library in the brand new Teen Room! (ask at the Reference desk if you need assitance / come in over the weekend). A follow up email will be sent to all participants with further instructions and to notify them when the kits are actually ready to be picked up.
Happy Crafting!
Please note that Registration is Required, and will be limited to the first 15 people at the moment. Each participant will need to sign up individually for a kit. Registration will open on Wednesday, April 1st at 9 AM and will close Friday, April 24th at 12 PM (or when all kits have been reserved) to ensure we have time to prepare the kits for everyone.
Registration for this event has now closed.
