It's a Book Birthday and we're celebrating with Afternoon Tea. Join author Valerie Keogh as she discusses her new book "The Librarian" (yes, we could not help ourselves! :), her other amazing crime and thriller books, her path to publishing, and her favorite tea blends. There's really something for everyone.

About the Book:

Since that fateful night I have always kept myself to myself. Reserved. Private. Alone. Some people think I am too quiet. That life is passing me by. But I know there is safety in my own company. That no one can hurt me if I don’t let them get too clos.Until the day I meet him. A handsome, charming stranger.A chance for me to take a risk…finally? Or a man who threatens everything I’ve worked so hard for? You’ll be sorry…And that’s when my whole life begins to fall apart…. Don't miss the brand new thriller by Valerie Keogh! Perfect for fans of Sue Watson, Shalini Boland and K.L. Slater.

About the author:

My name is Valerie Dickenson, I write crime and psychological thrillers under the pen name Valerie Keogh. I was born in Dublin, Ireland, the one below the middle in a family of nine. I trained as a nurse in the Mater Hospital. As a mature student I went to university and studied English – finishing with a BA in English and an MA in American Literature. I also met my husband there!

I stayed nursing, writing part time, and self-published my first book in 2014. I had 9 self-published before I got my first publishing contract in 2018. I gave up nursing at that stage to write full time and have never regretted the move. I moved with my English husband (he who I met in university!) to the UK in 2006 and we live outside Bath with our cat, Fatty Arbuckle. When I’m not writing or editing or plotting my next, I love to walk along the canal near our home and I love to travel – anywhere!

I grew up reading Agatha Christie so it’s not surprising I turned to crime. I set all six of the Dublin Murder Mystery series in my home city of Dublin but most of my psychological thrillers are based in and around London.

I’m currently published with Boldwood Books and have recently signed a second contract which will take me into 2025. My next book with them, The Librarian, will be published on April 21st .

We're thrilled to be collaborating with a multitude of MA Libraries to bring this program to our communities.
