Women in World Jazz: Hear Their Voices—A Tribute to Women of Color from USA and Around the Globe

African music migrated to different continents and enriched many cultures. Women in World Jazz will feature music from different cultures in diverse styles- creating a multi-generational performing ensemble which celebrates history, equality and hope. The group strives to educate and share the stories from these women’s lives, and their culture with audiences in MA. They applaud artists such as Billie Holiday, Mahalia Jackson, and Miriam Makeba who were active in their countries civil rights movement.

Women in World Jazz is a multi-generational performing ensemble which celebrates history, equality and hope. Their concerts are rich with information about composers and their music, and include audience Q and A at the end of each session.
